  4. The term “underwear” is still used in the plural, although in the singular it is also correct. The reason is that, in the 19th century, most men's underwear was two-piece.

With the Industrial Revolution and sewing machines, there was also a revolution in underwear, which started to be produced in series and with fabrics such as cotton and flannel, more comfortable. Finally, in the 20th century, comfort appeared, with the use of elastic fabrics. The story of underwear would never be the same again.
  6. It was with the Roman Empire that men's underwear gained popularity.
  7. In the 13th century, underwear appeared in Europe, which also became popular among the nobles. And, to the amazement of many: the design of boxers has been around since at least the 15th century.
  8. The first advertisement for underwear was made in 1914 in the United States. Paintings by artist J.C. Leyendecker illustrated pages from the Indianapolis Saturday Evening Post. In them, the characters appeared with their underwear.
